Four years ago, the Great Chebeague Golf Club made the decision to become certified as a cooperative sanctuary golf course. In doing so, it became part of a movement that promotes ecologically sound land management and the conservation of natural resources on golf courses. To get an update on the various ways the club is helping to meet its goals, we invite you to join Linda Grant on a tour of the new changes to the course. Linda, who is helping to shepherd the club’s environmental plan, will also talk about the history of this piece of land and how it became such an important part of the islandscape. 

About the presenter: Linda Grant is a board member of the Great Chebeague Golf Club and chair of its Audubon Sanctuary Project. She is a certified Master Gardener Volunteer and cultivates gardens with an emphasis on best environmental practices. Linda has served on several boards in recent years in line with her interest in history, historical preservation, and the environment. In her professional life she worked in development, marketing, and public relations. Linda is a graduate of Cornell University.
